Book Blogger Hop and the Weekly Overview

Book Blogger Hop
To join in the fun, just click the picture above!

Ah, it feels so good to not be sick and back to regular posts. I feel so bad I missed last weeks Hop, which sounded like a ton of fun.

"If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?"

Hecks yes!!  It drives me insane if I don't start out with book one.  When you skip around willy-nilly like I feel that I'm missing something from the series.  There's a reason they're numbered and have an order.  Personally I don't want to miss out on the emotional build up the author has worked so hard to create, or get dumped into some big plot that I can't appreciate because I wasn't there from the beginning. Plus, I don't feel it's far for my reviews--fairness is the name of the game!

Weekly Overview:

Again sorry to everyone who missed out on the posting, and thank you to all of those who gave me get well posts/emails.  It means a lot.  So you'll all be happy to know I'm back up to health, and I'm starting to gain weight.  Never thought I'd be so happy to gain weight.
  • Lips Don't Lie: Author Gossip was packed with hot new covers, question and answers for the author Kaylana Price. (Who's book I just finished, Grave Witch! If the exclamation point didn't tip you off I'll be writing a review for this later.)
  • Wednesday Wishes I was playing a little catch up, because even if you can't get up because your so sick there are always books to lust after.
Slim pickings this week but I'll be up and posting to normal like usual.  Keep an eye out because I have reviews to catch up on so there might be a review attack coming up. I'll try and keep it so I don't post reviews and regular posts on the same day.

I'm off to the Hop!

Old follower, but poor in keeping up with my followed blogs lately.

Sorry to hear you have been unwell! Good to hear you are on the mend though.

I think you will find most people saying they have to start with the first book in a series, myself included.
I find if you read the middle books first you end up not needing to read the ones previous to them because the information is generally dripped through the later novels.

Have a happy blog hop!

Chazz: Thanks for stopping by!! Sometimes it's hard to keep up with all of the fun blogs out there.

So far it looks like everyone prefers to read in order.

Sally T Gurl: Glad you like it!! Happy to have a new follower.

Julie Anne Lindsey: Thanks, I'm glad to be feeling good.

Stacy: Glad to have you as a follower. ^_-

Danielle: Nice to see you again! I always look forward to you dropping in on the Blog Hop.

Howard Sherman: It just drives me crazy to drop in on a series. I find even if the author makes them as "stand-alones" but they are still part of a series the experience is better in order.

Hi Just hopping around to say hi this is my first blog hop. I do books sometimes but right now I'm giving away a really nice pair of Bushnell binoculars. Really. Come on over and hi high and check out my site. Refer your hubby boyfriend or just your friend that hunt. I always start with the first one in a series.
Thanks This is fun

I LOVED Grave Witch! She is definitely on my authors to watch list :-)

I need to start from the beginning of a series too. Then I tend to read that series a bit obsessively until I run out of books...

Lora1967: REading them in order does cost more then just buying them as the thrift store gets them.

Broncomax93: Very cool!

Angela: Once I start a series if the books are already out I eat them up. If I have to wait for the slow release I tend to wait to read them for the next one to come out. Then the next. It's a viscious circle.
