Cover Coveting (6)

Cover art is found from Goodreads, Wicked Scribes, ATUF, social networks, and other sources.
***All cover art may not be final.***

It's hot guys. I'm gonna cool down with some cool covers. (Lame I know, but I couldn't resist. It's really hot.)

So my Open Live Writer is finally working well! Yeah! So expect the regural week day posts to continue.

I've been cramming all the covers I find in one post on Monday, but for the ease of adding them I'm breaking up the covers this week to Monday and Friday. I know I don't have an official Cover Coveting day, so heads up!

Now let's look at some pretty covers.

Guys, this cover is everything!

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

Blacksouls (Blackhearts #2) Series: Blackhearts, book 2

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon

This is cool. Nothing like the awesomeness of the first cover, but still very cool.

Yes, I know that the first cover would be really hard to beat.

Goodreads | Amazon

Clanless (Nameless #2) Series: Nameless, book 2

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Young Adult Dystopian

Shera’s thoughts:

First off I love when vertical text is done so brilliantly!

Wow, this one is just as dramatic as the last one! So cool. Honestly I thought a white theme would have been really hard to make good. However, I think it's just all kinds of awesome. I like that the black theme of the first cover looks smooth. This one is rough!

Great concepts.

Legacy of the Demon by Diana Rowland

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

Legacy of the Demon (Kara Gillian #8) Series: Cara Gillian, book 8

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Urban Fantasy

Shera’s thoughts:

*sighs* I love these cover. I adore them, no I practically worship. These are pretty much up there with the Mercy Thompson covers and other like it, where I just can't wait to see the artwork.

Heck when the series ends I'll mourn for the loss of more covers and story. That's how good they are.

Lifeblood by Gena Showalter

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

Lifeblood (Everlife #2) Series: Everlife, book 2

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Young Adult Dystopian

Shera’s thoughts:

I love the the time glass themes of this series, I really can't wait to see what they'll do next!

The first one was like a dual world thing, and I love how the two worlds are now breaking out of the glass and the sand is seeping.

Rise of Fire by Sophie Jordan

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

Rise of Fire (Reign of Shadows #2) Series: Reign of Shadows, book 2

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Young Adult Fantasy (AKA Fairytale Retelling)

Shera’s thoughts:

Oh, I loved the first cover for this series! I don't' think this one is as rich and in your face.

However, I love the typography again and that the cool tone of the cover. Especially since the title has the word "fire" in it.

I love that the first book is in full bloom and lush, and this cover is wilting and withering. Can't wait to see what book 3's cover is going to look like!

Review: Nailed to the Wall

Nailed to the Wall (Powertools, book 5) by Jayne Rylon

Nailed to the Wall (Powertools #5)

Genre: Ménage Erotica
Edition Reviewed: Ebook
Amazon: Paperback | Kindle
Goodreads: Nailed to the Wall (5)

The crew is back and they’re dirtier than ever.

Five sexy men with a penchant for love and lust in any variation have formed a crew. They work hard and play harder—together. Though their partnership began in construction, renovating houses and selling them for a mint, they’ve formed a bond around their shared goal to provide women, and each other, with the ultimate sexual experience.

Over the past year, as each member discovered his soul mate—or two—they expanded the reach of their circle, lighting up their nights along with their souls. Monogamous relationships and the desire to start families threaten to put their libertine revelry on the back burner. Will the passion that bonded them fade away? How will the new crew wives cope with the complex relationship the men will always cherish and crave?

Determined to prove they stand by their men, the women decide it’s time to flex some muscle and give the crew a dose of girl power. They collude to take the guys as their horny hostages, using some big guns: boudoir photos, a pillow fight and a calculated foray into partner swapping. But will they have the guts to go through with their plans?

Warning: By Book Five in this series, fans will attest that anything goes in the crew. Be prepared for ménage in every flavor—m/f, f/f, mfm, fmf, and more—along with a slew of that's what he said jokes. No throwing tomatoes at the author, please!

Review:

Gosh that title. Fitting. Though considering all the places things happen, I don't think any walls were nailed upon. ^_-

I really enjoyed seeing all of the characters interact. I like that Rylon skills have developed the cast of characters, so well that they're really balanced here. I enjoyed the girls time together and loved them as friends. Not to mention how love is different between the couples and their friendships.

But that's not what you want to hear about.

Oh, things go down. Every kinky sexual thing you wanted these crazy menagers to do happens. Some you didn't think of and stuff you were praying for.

I will be honest though. It covers a lot of bedroom scenes. I broke it up into individual reads. Because while there was some none sex scenes, they were few and far between. I'm not a person who can just have sex scene after sex scene. Not to mention that certain things did become over the top and cliché.

Just like previous books there were moments where the sex scenes are off balanced. For instant wasn't she already on her back? When he flipped her, she's still on her back?

It was a great addition to the series. I like that the book helps to expand what these characters real lives are going through outside of the bedroom. How they deal with who they are, what they want. That they talk things through. Not to mention that every fantasy these characters have is basically done.

Sexual Content: Okay, people just assume it's all kinds of kinky cray-cray stuff.

3/5- Adored it, just a few minor details held it back.

Wednesday Wishes

My latest drama addictions are Doctors and Let's Fight, Ghost! I can't stop binging guys!

Now for the book that caught my eye!

Thunder Road by Sierra Dean

thunder roadGet it: Amazon | Goodreads
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Series: Rain Chaser, book 1

Being Chosen was supposed to be a gift.

That’s what Tallulah Corentine’s parents told her when they handed her over to the Rain Chasers on her seventh birthday. It was an honor to be born with a destiny, to be hand selected by the gods before taking her first breath. She should be overjoyed.

Twenty years later, Tallulah is still waiting for the gift. She might have the power of the storm at her fingertips, but she’s spent her whole adult life living under a cloud.

A cross-country trip to find the wayward son of Seth, god of the storm, turns into a fight for her life when she dupes Death out of a valuable treasure. With only a wily con man, a dangerously handsome bad-luck priest, and a lot of lightning to help her, can she deliver the package and keep herself out of an early grave?
Or will Seth be looking for a new Rain Chaser before it’s all over?

I've been eyeing this author's Secret McQueen series for a while, but I haven't bought them yet. This series sounds really fun!

Oh, and I really-really-really like the cover. Plus, someone told me it's another bad ass lead!

Review: Devon's Pair

Devon's Pair (Powertools, book 4) by Jayne Rylon

Devon's Pair (Powertools #4)

Goodreads: Devon's Pair

Will his boyfriend’s girlfriend become his girlfriend too?

Powertools, Book 4

James has watched each of the crew fall in love, one by one, until only he and his life partner Neil remain “unattached”. So, when he sees the way his bisexual boyfriend is checking out their new apprentice, he’s sure he’s doomed to lose the man of his dreams.

His love is strong enough that he would let go to ensure Neil’s happiness. Instead, sparks fly between the three of them—along with the rest of the crew—and he realizes he might not have to surrender because his boyfriend’s girlfriend is becoming his girlfriend too.

Product Warnings
The world’s first m/f/m/f/m/f/m/m/f…we think. You never know exactly what’s going to happen next when the crew gets back together, but it’s guaranteed to be steamy.

Review:

Man I loved-loved-loved Devon!

It was also great because I've had mixed feelings about Neil. Never disliked him, but I wasn't fond of him.  James, though, has always been awesome and I love him. Devon's Pair finally made me fall in love with Neil.

It was crazy because this threesome was sweet, intense, heartbreaking at times, and perfect. One of my new favorite threesomes. Because I love that James is gay, but he does try out women. However, with Devon involved he loves Neil enough to make room for her. Because he knows Neil loves her. Yeah, James is awesome. So it makes it sweeter when James falls in love too.

That's the hard part with threesomes as a relationship. Up until now it's all been woman and man romances. Rylon is now taking the next step. So far only a few Banks books and Oaks' have been able to bring me this type of romance. However, I haven't read one where the guy was into the other guy. So I liked my first experience. Though Powertools has never been shy about guy on guy loving.

What I like even more is the setup for the different types of love and sexual attraction the characters share for each other. Devon and Kay have chemistry. Wink-wink! Heck the whole cast has chemistry. So we kind of know what the next book will have, or we hope. Another excellent addition to one of my favorite over the top sexy time books.

Sexual Content: Well the warning is in the synopsis. It's dirty my fellow bookworms. Dirty.

4/5- Great! Really enjoyed it.
