When I'm Not Reading (5) A Little True Blood

This is a fun little way for Book Bloggers to show what else we do besides live and breath books. Hard to imagine I know. This is hosted by the Unread Reader, just click on the awesome picture to check out and join the meme.

When True Blood season 1 first came out, I was so excited. We don't have cable, but I pre-ordered the boxset. Honestly I thought it was pretty cool, even if it really killed the books. My only main complaint was too much Jason screwing everyone. In short too much sex.

So I decided to be safe when the True Blood craze hit, Netflix would be my source.

true blood Pictures, Images and Photos

After basically spending all of my time in front of the TV watching Season 2, and frantically pulling my hair out waiting for the next disc.

I think it's really ambitious that the series takes the basic plots and ideas from The Southern Vampire series and then they explore different points. Jason shows us the inner working of The Fellowship of the Sun Church, which really had me laughing at times. Lafayette doesn't die, I loved his character in the books and hated that he died in book 2, so it's fantastic that Lafayette gets to continue in the series.

Another awesome storyline is that Bill has to create a Vampire as punishment for killing a vampire in defense of a human life. Jessica has been such a fun vampire, and her romance with Hoyt just rocked my world! In the books Hoyt is really just a sad dateless gentleman, I love that in True Blood Hoyt gets some much needed time in the spotlight.

So all in all I am now a True Blood fan. I really love both The Southern Vampire books and the True Blood series! So now I have to wait for the release of Season 3 boxset!

What do you thing about the series?

When I'm Not Reading (4) Lotus and Moose

This is a fun little way for Book Bloggers to show what else we do besides live and breath books. Hard to imagine I know. This is hosted by the Unread Reader, just click on the awesome picture to check out and join the meme.

Couldn't get the video of my little chicks to load, so hopefully I'll get that posted next week.

I actually did some fun things this week! I love taking photos so when we went to town I took some snap shots of the Lillies on the pond. The lighting wasn't to great.

I realized that I don't have a single photo of myself posted anywhere, so I'm going to share a snap my mom took of me sitting at the gardens at a local LDS Temple. Do I look how you think I would? ^_-

We went for a lovely drive over in Wyoming, and found some baby moose, with there mom of course. We didn't leave the vehicle for the shots, cause that would just be suicidal, I'm really happy how good my zoom worked.

I couldn't get the mom to pose with her babies, so their cute faces will have to do.

Hope everyone is having a fun week too!!

When I'm Not Reading (3) Feather Companions

Besides my awesome love for my fury companions, I also have some fantastic feather companions.

Be prepared to be cuteified!

I wanted to get all of them in together, so get'em while they're snoozing, these are my Silkie chickens. The white one is a mixed breeding, and if I say so she has the cutest butt on the planet.  So I've got two reds (Ma Petite and Wild), buffs (Fox and Hound), blacks (Flash and Serena), and the white (Rid).

I'll have to upload some videos so you can see how cute they are when the run amok in the yard.

When I'm Not Reading (2) The Fury Side

This is a fun little way for Book Bloggers to show what else we do besides live and breath books. Hard to imagine I know. This is hosted by the Unread Reader, just click on the awesome picture to check out and join the meme.
So, I firmly believe that no life is complete with out furry companions. The love you unconditionally and always have time for you, even when they're playing hard to get. I've decided to share my fur factors here.

This is Mr. Peaches, sitting a top his favorite spot-he's very lovable, but vocal. When people come over they think they're going to get their faces torn of, but he's all growl and no bite. Personally I believe he's that way because his real name is Peaches'n'Cream. All his grumpy noises are simply a protest to having such a girly name.

This may not be the best photo to get a grasp of how cute all her markings are. This is Yuki, AKA my goddess. She's the mother of Mr. Peaches up there, who happened to have 4 other brothers. Yuki is what you would call a spaz cat, always wary and hyper, but always spreading the love. I had aspirations that she would one day take over the world, or at least become a cat model. Luckily she's a humble country cat, who just happens to be one of the only cats I know that gets sunburn ears. Even with sunscreen they still get crisp, let's just say her ears are a lot smaller then what she started out with.

So those are the cat fur factors, next week I'll spread the love of selkies!!

When I'm Not Reading (1)

This is a fun little way for Book Bloggers to show what else we do besides eat and breath books. Hard to imagine I know. This is hosted by the Unread Reader, just click on the awesome picture to check out and join the meme.

I really couldn't decide on what to chit chat a bout for this post. So I decided to post about some of my favorite things. (Cue Mary Poppins music.)

I am a huge movie addict. Especially for movies that aren't really given too much spotlight.

First up is All About Steve, featuring Sandra Bullock and Bradley Cooper.  This is such a crazy movie, very unique. I couldn't stop laughing for more then a couple of seconds during it.

Then I moved on to a beautiful love story, Griffin & Phoenix. It's so sad but so good!

Midnight Bayou was a surprisingly awesome Nora Roberts movie. Lately we've been watching a lot of them, so far this is my favorite. A nice New Orleans love story with reincarnation twist.

We're actually watching this one right now, all of us are just laughing ourselves silly. Love and Other Disasters.

Sorry if that was really boring, I just couldn't quite think of what to post about, other then books! Pray I do something interesting to share.
