Wednesday Wishes

Hunting for books is one of my favorite things. Finding a new title is my equivalent of "getting rich." Whether the titles been around for a while, brand spanking new, or just not that common Wednesday Wishes is here for me to share them with you.

WildwingWildwing by Emily Whitman

When Addy is swept back in time, she couldn't be happier to leave her miser-able life behind. Now she's mistaken for Lady Matilda, the pampered ward of the king. If Addy can play her part, she'll have glorious gowns, jewels, and something she's always longed for—the respect and admiration of others. But then she meets Will, the falconer's son with sky blue eyes, who unsettles all her plans.

From shipwrecks to castle dungeons, from betrothals to hidden conspiracies, Addy finds herself in a world where she's not the only one with a dangerous secret. When she discovers the truth, Addy must take matters into her own hands. The stakes? Her chance at true love . . . and the life she's meant to live.

This sounds really good, and now that I’ve gotten into HR a bit more it would be nice to try out some YA.

Mine Till Midnight (The Hathaways, Book 1)Mine Till Midnight (The Hathaways #1) by Lisa Kleypas

When an unexpected inheritance elevates her family to the ranks of the aristocracy, Amelia Hathaway discovers that tending to her younger sisters and wayward brother was easy compared to navigating the intricacies of the ton. Even more challenging: the attraction she feels for the tall, dark, and dangerously handsome Cam Rohan.

Wealthy beyond most men’s dreams, Cam has tired of society’s petty restrictions and longs to return to his “uncivilized” Gypsy roots. When the delectable Amelia appeals to him for help, he intends to offer only friendship—but intentions are no match for the desire that blindsides them both. But can a man who spurns tradition be tempted into that most time-honored arrangement: marriage? Life in London society is about to get a whole lot hotter…

I’m a little bummed I now know that Cam didn’t get the girl in the last Wallflower book now that I’ve read this summary, but I am beyond excited to continue it!!

Nightseer [NIGHTSEER -OS] [Mass Market Paperback]Nightseer by Laurell K. Hamilton

The #1 New York Times bestselling author's spellbinding debut novel— now available in trade paperback for the first time.

Author of the hugely popular Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series, Laurell K. Hamilton has brought the supernatural to light—and has given readers a vision of a world aflame with electrifying suspense and violent passions. In this, her debut novel, her rich imagination spreads its wings to fly—in a tale of a woman known as sorcerer, prophet, and enchantress.

The mark of a demon can open the door to undreamed-of powers and possibilities—or expose a soul to the darkest and most forbidden forces of sorcery. Now Keleios wears the mark—and the time of avenging her mother's death is at hand.

Out side of Hamilton’s Black series I haven’t been that interested in any of her other works.  The one I tried ended up being a little flat and the later Blake books are a huge slap in the face.  However this is the debut novel that was written before she was given free range, so I have faith.  Plus it sound really good.

Siren's StormSiren's Storm by Lisa Papademetriou

Nothing has been the same for Will ever since what happened last summer. One day, on an ordinary sailing trip with his brother, there is a strange accident. When Will wakes up, he learns his brother has disappeared, presumed drowned. Worst of all, Will can't remember what happened—his family finds him unconscious, with no memory of the accident.

Now Will and his best friend and neighbor, Gretchen, are starting a new summer. Gretchen seems troubled—her sleepwalking habit is getting worse, and she keeps waking up closer and closer to the water. Will is drawn to Asia, the exotic new girl in town. Nobody knows where she's from—all Will knows is that her beauty and her mesmerizing voice have a powerful effect on people.

Then there is another mysterious drowning, and Will and Gretchen begin to wonder: Is Asia just another beautiful, wealthy summer resident? Or is she something entirely more sinister . . . and inhuman?

This is such a beautiful cover, the eyes are so evil!  This sounds like a standard issued book, but sometimes you have to look beyond the poor description.  Let the cover influence you!

I'm cautiously hopeful about the LKH book.

Like the new header for the blog, too!

I'm always hopeful with LKH books, but I've been bitten before.

Glad you like the new header, it took me forever to come up with something I was happy with.
