Wednesday Wishes

The weather is so crazy here. Below zero for over two weeks, then the dry snow storm. Heat wave of 30 to 40 Fahrenheit. Finally we get some wet snow, but the wind is crazy. One heck of a blizzard, and if the weather man is right it’s only the beginning.

*yeah, the nasty blizzards came. This was supposed to go up last week, but for some reason it didn’t post date right*

Between by Kerry Schafer

Between (The Between, #1)Get it: Amazon | Goodreads
Genre: Urban Fantasy (or PNR)
Series: The Between, book 1

Vivian Maylor can’t sleep. Maybe it’s because she just broke up with her boyfriend and moved to a new town, or it could be the stress of her new job at the hospital. But perhaps it’s because her dreams have started to bleed through into her waking hours.

All of her life Vivian has rejected her mother’s insane ramblings about Dreamworlds for concrete science and fact, until an emergency room patient ranting about dragons spontaneously combusts before her eyes—forcing Viv to consider the idea that her visions of mythical beasts might be real.

And when a chance encounter leads her to a man she knows only from her dreams, Vivian finds herself falling into a world that seems strange and familiar all at once—a world where the line between dream and reality is hard to determine, and hard to control…

This looks and sounds amazing. While I’m a bit fuzzy about whether it’s UF or PNR, paranormal and I’m there!

The Devil's Metal by Karina Halle

The Devil's Metal (Devils #1)Get it: Amazon | Goodreads
Genre: YA Paranormal (New Adult)
Series: Devils, book 1

It’s the summer of 1974 and 21-year old Dawn Emerson has only three things she wants to do: compete one last time in the Ellensburg Rodeo, win back her ex-boyfriend Ryan, and become the best damn music journalist at Central Washington University. But all her plans are left in the dust when she’s contacted by Creem magazine to go on the road with one of her favorite groups, the up-and-coming metal band, Hybrid.

At first the assignment reads like a dream come true. Not only will Dawn land some much-needed credibility as a female music journalist, but she’ll finally get to experience life from the other side of the stage, and maybe crack the drunken, enigmatic code that is guitarist Sage Knightly. Instead, Dawn finds herself on an aging tour bus filled with ego-maniacs, band politics and a whole lot of sex, drugs and rock n’ roll. When monsters start showing up in dressing rooms and some of Sage’s groupies become increasingly strange and dangerous, Dawn discovers the band is not only going places – they’re going straight to Hell.

And Dawn has a backstage pass.

The Devil's Metal is the first book in a two-part New Adult Horror/Paranormal Romance and very (very!) loosely based on the author's exploits as a music journalist. Hell comes in different forms.

It looks and sounds amazing some rodeo, rock, demons, and it is free on kindle right now! Grab it while it’s free! (Or least it was last week.)
