Wednesday Wishes

Well I went through, not a book downer, but a time where I didn’t have the energy to read. Now I’m seven books behind schedule for my 100 books! Nooooooooooooo!

I’m still holding on to good vibes. I’ll make it.

Electric Storm by Stacey Brutger

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000037_00035]Get it: Amazon | Goodreads
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Series: Raven Investigations, book 1

Everything changed when Raven, a natural born conduit, accidentally walks in on a slave auction. She only wants a night out with her friends before her next case as a paranormal liaison with the police. Instead, she ends up in possession of a shifter and his guardian. When your touch can kill, living with two touchy-feely shifters is a disaster waiting to happen.

To make matters worse, a vicious killer is on the loose. As mutilated bodies turn up, she can't help fear that her new acquisitions are keeping secrets from her. The strain of keeping everyone alive, not to mention catching the killer, pushes her tenuous control of her gift and her emotions to their limits. If they hope to survive, they must work together as a pack or risk becoming hunted themselves.

So it’s no secret that I’ve been complaining about new series/books not  coming out in Urban Fantasy lately. But I also had some bad luck with self pub.

However, I’m reading book 3 of the Colbana Files  and I’ve been enjoying myself! Electric Storm caught my eyes and I just couldn’t say no.

Unteachable by Leah Raeder

Genre: New Adult Contemporary
Series: N/A

Maise O’Malley just turned eighteen, but she’s felt like a grown-up her entire life. The summer before senior year, she has plans: get into a great film school, convince her mom to go into rehab, and absolutely do not, under any circumstances, screw up her own future.

But life has a way of throwing her plans into free-fall.

When Maise meets Evan at a carnival one night, their chemistry is immediate, intense, and short-lived. Which is exactly how she likes it: no strings. But afterward, she can’t get Evan out of her head. He’s taught her that a hookup can be something more. It can be an unexpected connection with someone who truly understands her. Someone who sees beyond her bravado to the scared but strong girl inside.

That someone turns out to be her new film class teacher, Mr. Evan Wilke.

Maise and Evan resolve to keep their hands off each other, but the attraction is too much to bear. Together, they’re real and genuine; apart, they’re just actors playing their parts for everyone else. And their masks are slipping. People start to notice. Rumors fly. When the truth comes to light in a shocking way, they may learn they were just playing parts for each other, too.

Smart, sexy, and provocative, Unteachable is about what happens when a love story goes off-script.

OK. I keep seeing this author’s name everywhere. This is her first book and I’m beyond curious to try her out.

City of Light by Keri Arthur

city-of-lightsGet it: Amazon | Goodreads
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Series: Outcast, book 1

They ended the war.

But they started something worse.

When the bombs that stopped the species war tore holes in the veil between this world and the next, they allowed entry to the Others—demons, wraiths, and death spirits who turned the shadows into their hunting grounds. Now, a hundred years later, humans and shifters alike live in artificially lit cities designed to keep the darkness at bay....

As a Déchet—a breed of humanoid super-soldiers almost eradicated by the war —Tiger has spent her life in hiding. But when she risks her life to save a little girl on the outskirts of Central City, she discovers that the child is one of many abducted in broad daylight by a wraith-like being—an impossibility with dangerous implications for everyone on earth.
Because if the light is no longer enough to protect them, nowhere is safe...

Ok. OK. I keep spamming this book everywhere. But I want it so bad!!!!!
