As a reader I always want the download on what's going on with authors. Do they have new books coming out, how’s their latest tour going, any thing juicy! So, I decided to bring the news to my readers. I'm lurking around all of those author blogs anyway, might as well do something productive.

Again thanks to everyone who’ve  been here supporting this feature from the start.  It’s a lot of work, but all of your enthusiasm for author news keeps me going.

This week I ask that you help spread the enthusiasm by sharing this post. I’ve got some easy sharing features at the end of this post, or you can share however you want.

Please, don’t feel like I’m demanding you share.  I just want to give everyone the chance to catch the latest author gossip.

-Thank you

If you haven’t heard about this be prepared to find out what you’re missing. Authors Kelly Meding, Lara Adrian, Stacia Kane, Harry Connolly, and Lucy A. Snyder take turns writing a chapter of A Glimpse of Darkness, once a week a chapter is released.  Each new chapter is based on what you the reader wants.

So the hottest authors are working together to give you exactly what you want to read.  Don’t miss out Chapter One is UP!

Red-Headed Stepchild (Sabina Kane, #1)

Long time fans who have been following the Sabina Kane series have always known that author Jaye Wells originally meant for the series to be a trilogy. Originally. Wells journey with Sabina has come to the conclusion that there’s just too much to tell in just a trilogy, the adventure is just beginning. So after Green Eyed Demon (book 3) we can expect a “blue” book. There’s even a fifth book in the plans.  Wells is hoping to get them out faster to fans.

So Sabina fans rejoice the rides not over yet, and you knows what surprises the series is going to bring.

Looks like another authors books will be getting the graphic novel treatment.  Richelle Meads’s Dark Swan series will be joining the ranks of books, to graphic novels.

To see more of this awesome art for the series check out Sea Lions press release about the whole shebang.

The Dark Divine (The Dark Divine, #1)

The Dark Divine by Bree Despian is a book I’ve had my eye on for a while. The main plot focuses on a girl who falls in love with a boy who turns out to be a werewolf. Sound like your kind of book, because it’s definitely sings to me?

Apparently Ralph Winter, creator of X-men, has his eyes on this book too.  But he wants eyes to be on The Dark Divine movie!  Winter is going on the appeal that Twilight movies are having for viewers.  I’m not sure if I like Twilight, but I’m eager to see this book on the big screen!

Sadly only the rights have been bought at this point, but here’s hoping.  The first step has been made, let’s hope they take the plunge!

Outlander (Outlander, #1)

There have been a lot of rumors going on about the adaptation of Outlander to screen since Essential Entertainment optioned for it. To lay some of those rumors to rest here’s what Gabaldon knows after meeting with the two main people connected with Essential Entertainment.

  1. Randall Wallace is no longer the script writer.  They have someone new who should have the script by the end of this year.  This new script writer hasn’t signed any contracts so nothing is set in stone right now.

Word is Katherine Heigl's mother is a fan of the books, and after her mothers recommendation Heigl read the books and liked them soon becoming a fan. Liked them enough to play Claire? This speculation was actually posted in the New York times. Gabaldon doesn’t know how it will pan out as other actresses have said they were interested and no dice. If Heigl would sign, it would definitely give the show the financing in needs.

The people feel that the “usual suspects” in the acting community are not fit for playing the role of Jamie, and would probably get an unkown. Gabaldon did mention who she had in mind.

-a very good, tall, red-headed, _young_ SCOTTISH actor named Allan Scott-Douglas.

The people were interested when she made her opinion known on the topic.

Are you a Jane Austin fan, and a lover of the paranormal? Well rejoice! A new anthology featuring Colleen Gleason, Mary Balogh, Janet Mullany and Susan Krinard are taking a Jane Austin title and rewriting it with a paranormal twist.

Gleason states:

I've taken Austen's Northanger Abbey and given it a Gardella twist...this story takes place about twenty years after the final book in the Victoria Gardella series. And although you won't actually see any familiar characters on the page, you will find out a few fun things...like, whatever happened to that weasly George Starcasset?? And what is the gender of Victoria's baby?

Not sure about you guys but I am so there! This is out now so don’t be shy about getting a copy!

New Covers:

Molly Haper’s latest series finally get some faces. These are book one and book two of her Naked Werewolf series—in that order.  They have a very nice chic-lit feel to them.  Author Post.

How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf (Naked Werewolf, #1) How to Fall for a Naked Werewolf (Naked Werewolf, #2)

Anya Bast’s new covers were released on the 21st, but here’s for those of you who haven’t seen them.  This has to be my favorite cover in the Dark Magic series yet.  Author post.

Latest Blogossip:

We’ve all seen the posts about SPEAK by Laurie Halse Anderson being on the banned list.  Whether you’ve seen it on a favorite reviewers blog, or even a favorite author.  I’m really proud of the voices ringing out.  No ones throwing bricks in outrage, but no matter the reader everyone is standing up for the right of free reading.

I found the most interesting results from authors, who have a certain interest in keeping free voices on the street.  Some have even gone as far as to host a giveaways for Speak.

Personally I’ve never read speak, it’s outside of my genre. Sure I’ve come across it and have thought, “I really need to read this.”  So when the objection was posted by an associate professor of management at Missouri State University, Wesley Scroggins, I couldn’t say to much to his claims that Speak should be

“classified as soft pornography”

Personally rape is not pornography, unless you’re some twisted psycho.  After further research and the help of an author’s post I found this “soft pornography” and only found the hard reality of rape.  Later in the book it even goes on to state that the girl had no idea it was rape she had witnessed because she was sheltered. These are the words from the book that really hit home to me, and make me wonder if Scroggins has fully read the book.

I can understand a parent’s desire to shelter their children from the ugliness in life. But as a former child who was sheltered to such a degree that I didn’t even understand what I’d seen, or what Guy had been attempting to do to me, I applaud the effort to educate kids on the subject of sexual assault, painful though it may be.

I would love to share the author’s post who helped me to fully understand what Scroggin’s is trying to “protect” kids from. Check out Jeaniene Frost’s eye opening post.
