So exciting I got a belated Christmas present! It’s the 5 disc The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey extended edition! I’m hoping the extended version might make me like the first Hobbit movie just a bit more.
Because all the extended editions of The Lord of the Rings made them totally awesome! I’ll let you guys know once I get around to watching it.
Now let me lust over some books.
Savage Hunger by Terry Spears
Get it: Amazon | Goodreads
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Series: Heart of the Jaguar, book 1
Kathleen McKnight is on a dangerous mission to help her army team take down a drug lord. She's a tough as nails recruit, but when she's caught in the crossfire, she has to rely on a mysterious man to save her. She has no idea that he has big plans for her...
Connor Anderson is a jaguar shifter who is looking for his mate. When he rescues Kathleen in the jungle-twice--he can't help but be intrigued. Will a bite or a scratch turn Kathleen into the perfect jaguar mate?
To be quite honest I keep saying I’m going to read Spears’ wolf series but I can’t seem to move past book 1. However, this has cat shifters. Something I don’t think there’s enough PNR with, especially good ones.
Grim Shadows by Jenn BennettGet it: Amazon | Goodreads
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Series: Roaring Twenties, book 2
Archaeologist Lowe Magnusson is packing something everyone wants. The djed amulet, a priceless Egyptian artifact, will fetch Lowe a hefty paycheck from one of San Francisco’s wealthiest. But when the handsome Swede runs into his patron’s uptight daughter, what he once considered easy money becomes maddeningly complicated…
Cursed with deadly spirits as her constant companions, curator Hadley Bacall must keep calm to hold her dangerous specters at bay and prevent them from lashing out at anything—or anyone. Trouble is, Lowe is driving her crazy, but her father needs the artifact he’s transporting. While Hadley can feel the amulet’s power, she can’t fathom the destruction—or the desire—it’s about to stir up.
Technically I want both book 1 and 2. Why? It’s Jenn Bennett baby! She does amazing things.
The Ring & the Crown by Melissa De La CruzGet it: Amazon | Goodreads
Genre: Young Adult Fantasy
Series: N/A
Princess Marie-Victoria, heir to the Lily Throne, and Aelwyn Myrddn, bastard daughter of the Mage of England, grew up together. But who will rule, and who will serve?
Quiet and gentle, Marie has never lived up to the ambitions of her mother, Queen Eleanor the Second, Supreme Ruler of the Franco-British Empire. With the help of her Head Merlin, Emrys, Eleanor has maintained her stranglehold on the world's only source of magic. She rules the most powerful empire the world has ever seen.
But even with the aid of Emrys' magic, Eleanor's extended lifespan is nearing its end. The princess must marry and produce an heir or the Empire will be vulnerable to its greatest enemy, Prussia. The two kingdoms must unite to end the war, and the only solution is a match between Marie and Prince Leopold VII, heir to the Prussian throne. But Marie has always loved Gill, her childhood friend and soldier of the Queen's Guard.
Together, Marie and Aelwyn, a powerful magician in her own right, come up with a plan. Aelwyn will take on Marie's face, allowing the princess to escape with Gill and live the quiet life she's always wanted. And Aelwyn will get what she's always dreamed of--the chance to rule. But the court intrigue and hunger for power in Lenoran England run deeper than anyone could imagine. In the end, there is only rule that matters in Eleanor's court: trust no one.
To be honest after seeing the cover I was in. Yep. Total cover call. Then I saw the author and I got more excited. Cruz is someone I tend to like, even when she’s just fan catering.
