I took last week off. I had a serious head cold, still recovering from. I don't know why but when you have to blow your nose every other breath I just hate doing things—even reading!
So I moped, blew my nose, and junked on Police Story movies. Jackie's the best.
Driving Rain by Sierra Dean

Series: Rain Chaser, book 2 Add it: Goodreads | Amazon Genre: Urban Fantasy Shera’s thoughts: Well the cover is a decent attempt and fits the series. The guy in the background really look so off. I'm hoping that's a cigarette or cigar in his mouth. Either way. I do like how dramatic the title looks. |
Fire Blood by Elly Blake
Previous book(s) in series: |

Series: Frostblood, book 2 Add it: Goodreads | Amazon Genre: Young Adult High Fantasy Shera’s thoughts: It's starting to become a pet peeve of mine. Where the title looks like two separate words, but in reality it's one world. So just like the first cover they break it into two for visual reasons, but it's actually "Fireblood" if you want to look it up. Bad move. Especially considering how picky Amazon and Goodreads can be for searching. Otherwise it's stunning! |

Series: Alternative Detective, book 2 Add it: Goodreads | Amazon Genre: Young Adult Steampunk Shera’s thoughts: The industrial stuff doesn't scream steampunk, but it all looks cool. The placement of the girl looks odd. You can't tell if she's hanging or free falling off the crane. I don't like this as much as the first cover. Again I like the tilt of title, it just doesn't have anything cool to play off of. |

Series: N/A Add it: Goodreads | Amazon Genre: Paranormal Young Adult Shera’s thoughts: You know I feel like I should really like this, the graffiti is cool and fun and I love how the title blends into it. However, it just comes off super tacky as I star at it. |
A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas
Previous book(s) in series: |
Series: A Court of Thorns and Roses, book 3 Add it: Goodreads | Amazon Genre: Young Adult Fantasy Shera’s thoughts: Wow, so pretty. Best part is that it fits so well into the series. Love this particular shade of green, and her dress! |
Firebrand by Kristen Britain
Previous book(s) in series: |
Series: Green Rider, book 6 Add it: Goodreads | Amazon Genre: High Fantasy Shera’s thoughts: Yeah! Finally the USA cover. It's so pretty. Love the gryphon. (Gryphon?? Holy cow I'm behind on this series.) |
Grave Ransom by Kalayna Price
Previous book(s) in series: |
Series: Alex Grave, book 5 Add it: Goodreads | Amazon Genre: Urban Fantasy Shera’s thoughts: I think this is my least favorite. Side boob attempts are not my favorite. I like the gate. The hair sweep is a bit much. Clearly trying to show off the top, but you can't really see the back of it clearly. |
Iron Gold by Pierce Brown
Previous book(s) in series: |
Goodreads | Amazon |
Series: Iron Gold, book 1 Add it: Goodreads | Amazon Genre: Young Adult Science Fiction/Science Fiction Shera’s thoughts: I really like the white cover. It's not as dramatic as the original trilogy, but I like the simpler and cleaner look to introduce the new one. |
Last Stand by Rachel E. Carter

Series: The Black Mage, book 4 Add it: Goodreads | Amazon Genre: Young Adult Fantasy Shera’s thoughts: So cool!! The delay in release was worth it just for this cover. Badass magic power cover! Boom. |
Missing by Kelley Armstrong
Previous book(s) in series: |

Series: N/A Add it: Goodreads | Amazon Genre: Young Adult Mystery Shera’s thoughts: I love leafs! I truly do. I love the kind of grainy quality and blur affect to the title! It really gives the cover extra depth. |
Obsidian and Stars by Julie Eshbaugh
Previous book(s) in series: |
Series: Ivory and Bone, book 2 Add it: Goodreads | Amazon Genre: Young Adult "Historical?" Shera’s thoughts: I don't like this one as much as the first cover. The broken/smashed quality is a cool touch. |
Owl and the Electric Samurai by Kristi Charish
Previous book(s) in series: |
Series: The Adventures of Owl, book 3 Add it: Goodreads | Amazon Genre: Urban Fantasy Shera’s thoughts: The gradient affect is, as usual, utilized really well here. This particular shade of green seems very popular choice lately. On a side note it really amuses me that she's holding a hammer. |
