Now moving on . . .
Mercy Blade (Jane Yellowrock #3) by Faith Hunter No discription posted. Doesn't this cover just look kick ass! Personally I love the look of all the Yellow Rock books, which makes me think I need to move them up on my TBR pile!
Resenting the Hero (Hero Series #1) by Moira J. Moore
In a realm beset by natural disasters, only the bonded Pairs--Source and Shield--make the land habitable and keep the citizenry safe. But can Dunleavy Mallorough and Lord Shintaro Karish put aside their differences to defeat something even more unnatural than their reluctant affections for each other?
Confession time, I've seen this one around for quite a while. In fact, I've actually had it on my Wishlist off and on. After reading quite the review on it, I've decided I must cave and buy it to try it. With a cover like that it's time.
A Brush of Darkness by Allison PangThe man of her dreams might be the cause of her nightmares.
Six months ago, Abby Sinclair was struggling to pick up the pieces of her shattered life. Now, she has an enchanted iPod, a miniature unicorn living in her underwear drawer, and a magical marketplace to manage. But despite her growing knowledge of the OtherWorld, Abby isn’t at all prepared for Brystion, the dark, mysterious, and sexy-as- sin incubus searching for his sister, convinced Abby has the key to the succubus’s whereabouts. Abby has enough problems without having this seductive shape-shifter literally invade her dreams to get information. But when her Faery boss and some of her friends vanish, as well, Abby and Brystion must form an uneasy alliance. As she is sucked deeper and deeper into this perilous world of faeries, angels, and daemons, Abby realizes her life is in as much danger as her heart—and there’s no one she can trust to save her.
Amazon is claiming this is a Urban Fantasy so I'm putting my faith in them. The description sounds like a PNR, and that out fit is screaming I'll do'ya for a price, but it just piques my interest. Besides there's something really interesting about that slutty cover, just look out those tights. The colors are pretty . . .
Iron Crowned (Dark Swan #3) by Richelle MeadShaman-for-hire Eugenie Markham is the best at banishing entities trespassing in the mortal realm. But as the Thorn Land’s queen, she’s fast running out of ways to end the brutal war devastating her kingdom. Her only hope: the Iron Crown, a legendary object even the most powerful gentry fear…
Who Eugenie can trust is the hardest part. Fairy king Dorian has his own agenda for aiding her search. And Kiyo, her shape-shifter ex-boyfriend, has every reason to betray her along the way. To control the Crown’s ever-consuming powers, Eugenie will have to confront an unimaginable temptation--one that will put her soul and the fate of two worlds in mortal peril…
That cover is an abomination to the Mead empire of awesomeness, I spit on it!
The Tear Collector by Patrick JonesI've wanted this one for a while. Sigh, it just sounds so different. Assassin's Apprentice (Farseer Trilogy #1) by Robin HobbFans of urban fantasy should prepare for a new kind of vampire–one that feeds off of tears instead of blood. Descended from an ancient line of creatures that gain their energy from human tears, Cassandra Gray depends on human sorrow to live. Only Cass has grown tired of living this life and wants to live like a human, especially now that she's met someone worth fighting for.
Young Fitz is the bastard son of the noble Prince Chivalry, raised in the shadow of the royal court by his father's gruff stableman. He is treated like an outcast by all the royalty except the devious King Shrewd, who has him secretly tutored in the arts of the assassin. For in Fitz's blood runs the magic Skill--and the darker knowledge of a child raised with the stable hounds and rejected by his family. As barbarous raiders ravage the coasts, Fitz is growing to manhood. Soon he will face his first dangerous, soul-shattering mission. And though some regard him as a threat to the throne, he may just be the key to the survival of the kingdom.
I swear the new covers having nothing to do with me suddenly wanting to read it. Lately I've noticed some of the classic, or must read, Epic Fantasy authors I've missed.
Somber Island by T. Lynne TollesPhoebe MacIntire, who is a servant to her father and sisters in her own house in Scotland in 1855, is an ordinary girl, with no big dreams for the future. She's perfectly happy in her humble life, with her cot in the basement and her little garden in the backyard. But when her father up and sends her to Newfoundland to be the lifelong servant to Lord Jacobs, she finds her life gets turned upside down.
Her journey across the Atlantic to her new home is long, scary and very unpleasant. When she arrives at the manor on a small island, she finds the beautiful place abandoned and only a note waits for her explaining her duties, the strange dietary requirements, and sleeping habits of her new master.
The very first night in her new home she's haunted in her dreams by a woman who clearly does not want her there and a strange blue-eyed man-wolf creature that follows the woman. Her dreams become more and more violent and mysteries start to be uncovered about a woman who was killed in a fire on the island, a creature that preys on anyone that comes to the island and a love story gone wrong that dates back over a hundred and twenty two years.
Join Phoebe as she explores the past, delving into witchcraft, and vampirism to help a brother save another from a life of sadness and misconception, making some amazing and surprising friends along the way.
I love you, I honestly love you. After looking at this cover, and reading the description, I felt the need to serenade. As I haven't read it yet, let's hope the serenade is justified.
Half-Blood (Covenant #1) by Jennifer L. ArmentroutThe Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi—pure-bloods—have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals—well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.
Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:
Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.
Unfortunately, she’s crushing hard on the pure-blooded Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn’t her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.
Armentrout seems cursed with the glowing outline covers lately. I've read book one of both her fiary and vampire books and have to say that her books are wacked. Even though they're pretty messed up I still continue to buy the books and follow her around like a faithful fan. May this when be yet another fun wacked-up read.
Heavenly (Heavenly #1) by Jennifer Laurens (I met someone who changed everything. Matthias. My autistic sister's guardian angel. Honest. Inspiring. Funny. Hot. And immortal. That was the problem. What could I do? I did what any other girl would do-I fell in love with him. Zoe's sister darts in front of cars. Her brother's a pothead. Her parents are so overwhelmed; they don't see Zoe lost in her broken life. Zoe escapes the only way she knows how: partying. Matthias, a guardian sent from Heaven, watches over Zoe's autistic sister. After Zoe is convinced he's legit, angel and lost girl come together in a love that changes destiny. But Heaven on Earth can't last forever.
I've wanted to read this book for years now. Since it was self published and hard to get I kept putting it off. Until finally I lost the name of both author and book. Personally I want to check this out because it was about angels before the big publishing houses picked up on them.
Saltwater Vampires by Kirsty Eagar
He looked to the sky, praying for rain, a downpour, some sign from the heavens that he should refuse the abomination contained in that flask. But all he saw was the bloated white face of the moon smiling down on him …
And the sky around it was cold and clear and black …
They made their circle of blood. And only the moon witnessed the slaughter that followed.
For Jamie Mackie, summer holidays in the coastal town of Rocky Head mean surfing, making money, and good times at the local music festival. But this year, vampires are on the festival’s line-up … fulfilling a pact made on the wreck of the Batavia, four hundred years ago. If their plans succeed, nobody in Rocky Head will survive to see out the new year.
Page-turning and suspenseful, Saltwater Vampires is a distinctly Australian vampire thriller.
Me cover slut. Look at cover. Nuff said.
The Princess's Dragon by Susan TrombleyFlanked by two lovely and graceful sisters, Princess Casiondra Falanell Cristalona Ariva- Sondra to her family-doesn't feel confident or beautiful. As Sondra soon discovers, she must constantly sacrifice to make the right choices as she grows to love and admire her new mentor. With her homeland poised on the brink of war, Sondra finds herself facing an unbearable decision; she must choose between her heart and her duty to her country.
This cover catches the eye right? Even despite it's tacky typography, and the terrible Photoshop cut and paste it's suffering from, it still catches the eye. Plus it has dragons, who can say no.

Holy WoW! You've got some great finds there. Somber Island looks like it'll be some good old fashioned gothic fun.
