Hades by Alexandra Adornetto

Shera’s Thoughts: Oh, another stunning cover. It just hurts when the covers are so pretty, but I just can’t read what’s inside. The wings are even more stunning then on the first cover. I love how the people have a bit more detail on this cover then the first. Truly pleasing on the eyes.

Nightshade by Andrea Cremer

Shera’s Thoughts: It’s interesting that the covers are getting a makeover for the paperback release. Maybe too many readers like me complained that the covers of the hardback release just didn’t match the story. This is a really cool cover, but I don’t like the snout poking out of her face. The wolf eye would have been good enough.
Author’s Thoughts:
“Penguin decided to try out a fresh take on NIGHTSHADE for the paperback release and I absolutely love it. I also loved the original cover, but I think the new cover truly embodies the novel and depicts Calla so perfectly. When I was first mulling over NIGHTSHADE I came across a poem by Margaret Atwood (one of my favorite authors)* and was struck by its first stanza:
Not you I fear, but that other
She who can walk through flesh
Queen of the two dimensions
These lines reflected the essence of Calla and were the inspiration for this new cover. I love it!” – Andrea Cremer

Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer

Shera’s Thoughts: Honestly I’m a bit confused if this is the hardback and paperback copy version now. Peeved is the feeling I’ll have if I don’t get the original hardcover copy for this one. I loath getting unmatching covers for series. (*cough* Jenna Blacks and Lilith Saintcrow. *cough*) The bookstore sites still show the old cover.
Author’s Thoughts:
The response to the new NIGHTSHADE cover as it was previewed was so positive that Penguin has decided to makeover the series with this new theme. Squee!!! Thus I'm also able to share....
NEW WOLFSBANE COVER!!
I am enthralled by how powerful Calla is in this image and the way she resembles a wolf silhouetted by the moon is exquisite. Calla would love this cover (as would Ren and Shay *cough*).
Thanks to all the talent at Penguin for giving my books such wonderful covers!!! I can't wait to see them on the books!!

Vampires Dead Ahead by
Cheyenne McCray

Shera’s Thoughts: These covers are fun, nothing ground breaking, but clearly good design. Especially love how each book has a color theme, the never look cheap like some tacky cover lay over. So hats off to the designers!

Shera’s Thoughts: This series has never really blown me away with its covers, but this one is too blah. White, figure of girl staring at us, white, some nice blue and black font, and more white.

Courting Darkness by

Shera’s Thoughts: Oh, this is pretty. Camille looks stunning, I’ve come to really appreciate her her slutty sexy style on the covers. The snowy background looks great with Camille's alluringly dark features. Plus I see a certain dragon trying to blend into the background.

Conspiracies by Mercedes Lackey

Shera’s Thoughts: Yuck. This second book in the series lost all of the kick ass edge from the first book. I feel like someone should push the girl and start shouting “What’s your damage?” Prep school look, snore.

Shadow Kin by M.J. Scott

Shera’s Thoughts: This is a book you buy for the cover. It’s got a great old English feel in the background, but a complete UF kick-your-ass modern slayer foreground. The too go well together.
Author’s Thoughts:
“And lo, there was a cover for Shadow Kin and it was kind of awesome! I’ll be the one staring at my computer screen for the next little while and grinning….” – M. J. Scott
