Tribute to Author Jennifer Rardin

This morning I went online to check out some of my favorite authors’ sites.  When I got to Rardin’s I really thought the post was a joke.  A terrible joke.  Here’s what the post stated:

It is with great sadness we report that  Jennifer Rardin passed away on Monday, September 20th.  Jennifer was a remarkably talented writer and our heart goes out to her family and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Riley’s Children’s Hospital

The 7th book in her Jaz Parks series  will be out this November. The final book in the series was completed before her passing and will be out in June 2011.

Jennifer Rardin, is the author of the fabulous fun urban fantasy Jaz Parks series.  The cause of death is currently unknown.  It seems so sad to think she was only 45 years old.

Once Bitten, Twice Shy (Jaz Parks, #1)

Another One Bites the Dust (Jaz Parks, #2)

Biting the Bullet (Jaz Parks, #3)

Bitten to Death (Jaz Parks, #4)

One More Bite (Jaz Parks, #5)

Bite Marks (Jaz Parks, #6)

Bitten in Two (Jaz Parks, #7)

She will be missed.  Personally I’ll miss her fun posts on her blog, and I’ll miss her posts over at the League of Reluctant Adults.  In honor of Rardin I will be postponing my Lips Don’t Lie post so this one has some more time up.  (LDL will be posted later on Friday.)

I'm so sorry. It must feel like you've lost a friend. I'm not familiar with her work at all, but I know how I felt when one of my favorite authors died and it was shocking. I hope you are okay. Grab your favorite book of hers and whatever you drink to feel better and snuggle up and remember her good lines.

take care,
Heather

Well thank you Heather. My mom already took care of the tragedy front. Lot's of dark chocolate, coffee, and Rardins books piled up around me. Feels strange to take her death so personal.

I don't think so. If you're like me, my books are like friends to me, so their authors are too. You've lost a friend even if you didn't know her personally, you feel like you did through her books. Don't feel silly. We all love our books. Some of us are more attached to them than others, but I should think we would all understand.

Glad you have such a supportive mom,
Heather

Yeah, she's a pretty awesome Mom. Wow, you made me tear up. Your words are true, and make a much better tribute to Rardin.

Thank you for sharing.
